Christmas is over!

Can't believe it passed so quickly, but it was an awesome awesome christmas :D

Dinner at RedDot, Flyer, CQ countdown & dancing till 5.

Plus family parties, Christmas carols, Christmas goodies, Turkey, Log cakes!

I feel so happy everytime Christmas comes rounds. It is indeed a season filled with love.

I haven't been a very good christian, I know that. Sometimes I think about it and I don't know exactly what people define a 'good christian' as.

But all I can say is that I thank God for my friends and family making this season and this year as wonderful as it has been.

I am so thankful for all these awesome people that have been with me through this year.

It has been a long time since I really blogged here since my tablet got sent for repair.

Swim camp at Pulau Hantu was greattttt(:
It was pretty cool, like back to basics again. starting our own fire, pitching our own tents, cooking our own food etc. it felt pretty awesome to know that we managed all of this on our own:D
Night time at Hantu was really scary, with snakes and centipedes crawling all around /: and jonathan got biten!That was really horrifying. It was bad enough that he had to be sent back to the main island to be hospitalised.
I was really thankful for Rachel (Yong) that night. (though we were both freaking out)
Thank you, Rachel for reminding me to trust in Him instead of taking everything into our hands.

Well, PT/ punishment for the first day was no fun, srsly. But it was pretty heartening to see everyone cheering each other on, enduring the painful, grainy sand beneath our feet, completing all we had to.

I guess i got to know people better through this camp, and i'm sure we'l'l get to know each other even better in a matter of time.
Camp was a success indeed (:
(just that i'm stuck with 30+ sand fly bites!urghh)

Today I was thinking, I've lost my focus of God for the last month or so. I have been preoccupied with many things; many things that are important, yet they are not as important as God.
Knowing this, I still find it really hard to put Him first in my life.

I was reading this entry "Christians live not by Christian principles but by the grace of the living God"

Over the past few weeks I've realised that when we live by principles, we often fail we fail to be guided by these principles. Not that the principles are no good, but because we are too weak to abide by them. When in a dangerous place of temptation, we will sin.

The bible teaches us to resist the devil, but never to resist temptation. Possibly because we cannot resist temptation. Picture a strong man fighting against a frail little kid. That frail little kid is us. Sin is the strong man. We cannot resist and overpower it. Hence, we are told to flee from temptation. The solution to the devil is resistance. The solution to sin is to flee, not to stay and remain behind. That is where I fail. I remained in the lions’ den or at the leopards’ mountain haunts to be devoured.

Recently, I've thought less about some stuff, but it may be a bad thing, it seems like I'm alright with just letting it be. But, the long run kinda scares me actually/:

friday was spent with the swimmers(: Training was tough! the intensity was like -. But i completed it! felt so good, it's been long since i've trained that hard. thank you, Sherman for the sets.

Thank you for the past week, it's been pretty eventful! and i've been pretty happy the whole week(:

went back to school ytd morning to give out flyers with the swimmers to promote the CAN! marathon. sadly, i'll only be able to go for like half of it? since i'm flying off the next morning.
headed to pp for lunch, feels like i havent been there for quite sometime!
then sherman and i went to cy's place to wash up a little before meeting the year 3s!
i shared waflle with 3 scoops of icecreammm with xx, while nic, sherman, nerd and cy shared the same amt between four of them!

and jiamin looks so different without specs! so prettyyyy:D

i just realised that jon still does tutoring, i'm so getting him to help me with math!(:

jj and i came in second! it was quite surprising, cos we werent planning to win anything. so i suppose it was a pleasant surprise!

half way through i went the wrong way! & trying to cut through the grass to get back to the right path so did NOT work. in fact it screwed up the bike and the chians came out -.-
it was really. bad.
i'm so thankful sherman stopped to help me fix the bike and chains, or i would srsly be screwed. chaiyong for helping my settle all the biking stuff & everyone else for cheering me on :D

now, i really want to ride a road bike. i really wanna do biking! but the thought of falling off still scares me /: hahah.
maybe i should start saving up for a bike?
i'm going to ride on the road bike next year. yes i am!

this weekend has been pretty good. just completed math tutorial 3 but i've still got my PI and econs to do!
& my diet plan keeps failing! i'm so annoyed at myself ):

it's the weekend again!
i went biking this morning. it was fun and painful. haha
i fell off the bike! and now i have abrasions at my knee and shoulder.
sadly, i missed polo training this morning ):
more trainings to come since polo nats are 8th April! which is really soon /: we're gonna embarrass ourselves again. i hope not actually.
school nats scares me. i want to do well.

urgh, PI due on tuesday. i've got to start cracking my brains):
& there'll probably be CSE and geog tests coming up. sadenss.

swim camp's over ):
it was pretty good.

day1: started off with inter- jc. Mag and denise came down for timekeeping (:
i did really bad times at the meet. all my times dropped 3-4 secs. how depressing. and nats are so close /:
BBQ for dinner. the tables were so tastefully decorated with candles , pretty cloth. etc. it was really impressive given the limited time we had to do all these. it was like candle light dinner, if only we had music to go with it. haha.
but the food wasnt so good. and there wasnt enough! /:
so we ended up calling macs at 2am.
the food kept us up talking nonsense and laughing at ridiculous things(: and we all ended up sleeping on the floor outside the gym .

day2: our 'morning pt' plan wasnt carried out in the end.
we had our morning jog to east coast and land training there. the floor was gross! sandy, sticky and painful /:
& our picnic wasnt too successful since it started pouring! what a waste.
we changed our outing/ games location to the airport since we could send tawan off.
(i'll miss you girl!)
chaiyong zongyao tawan and i had sakae for lunch before meeting the rest to send Tawan off.
headed to starbucks with Sherman and Chaiyong to 'study' while the J1s started their game.
Lenard and Xiaoxuan joined us later.i figured putting lenard and chaiyong together is just crazyyy. hahahaha. they couldnt stop the "ting ting" joke. (inside joke),but i have to admit it was hilarious.

day3: real tiring. woke up for morning training which lasted till noon? and the sun was so unforgiving! now i'm slightly burnt):
massage session was shiok!though weihui was screaming like she was giving birth.hahah! but the calf massage is super ticklish, i was squirming the whole time
then it was polo(: fun, but tiring, treading water the whole time and after the long morning training.
it ended pretty late, so had mom to pick me up & gave sherman a lift.

now i'm really looking forward to peneng. but i hear that the year 2s are stepping down after nats. i hope not ):
& xx, i really hope you'll be able to go (: miss having you ard!

saturday was really busy, rushing from place to place.

today has been a happy day!
i'm so envious of the TA2s going to OBM lumut tmr!
i really miss that place. alot.
it's like such a good break from the city, homework, trainings, parents, stress everything.
& the place is really beautiful with all the greenery around. you probably wont find a place like that here in Singapore.
& i miss having cell there. we even had midnight cell. meeting at 1am.
Obm memories were so awesome!
i want to go back there so much.

yesterday's training had quite few people. suddenly everyone disappeared!
dinner at pastamania.and i had scoops! after a really long time

the week has been tiring, and recently i've been sleeping really early. idk, i'm more tired than usual.
quite a lot to complete this weekend /: damn, i hate homework.

i had good lunch at St, Regis. the interior was really pretty. classy!
i guess that's what people pay for.
then i headed to Novena to meet Chaiyong, Weihui, Sherman,Royce, Ziheng, Dandan for camp discussion. we kept digressing, but we more or less got things done (:
now i'm really excited for March camp.
holidays, please come quickly!

we had ice cream buffet after that! :D
it was awesome, but i got quite sick after a while.
i had around 7 seven scoops! (charis if you're reading this, i ate the least k)
sherman had 13 and ziheng 14 i think! hahaha
but i guess it was worth it since it was new zealand's natural.
xx joined us later.
we just hung ard and talked till 5:30 when my mom came to pick me up.

mann, i didnt get to train today ): the weather has been pretty screwed up these few days.
i really need to train if i want to make it for finals/:

i thank God for sustaining me through this entire week.
I really need to learn to like studying and see it as a privileged given by God.

school's starting again. tmr. i'm so dreading it.

i feel like i've bee wasting a lot of time on msn. recently, like i keep getting distracted with technology and then i dont have time to do the important things.
it feels like it's eaten up my time i spend with God, time that i could spend revising work. i should really learn how to prioritise. and i've been struggling with this since forever.
BUT. at the same time i dont feel catching up with people is a waste of time. In school we're all having different timetables, we barely get to meet each other, and it leaves us with the night to have time for ourselves and our friends i guess?
and i like talking to people.

yay, i'm more or less well!
no more stomach flu & food poisoning!
school's so -. i dont have a single early day. i miss TA1 and 2 where at least every friday we'll be let off by 12:30.
today's timetable was insane, like 6 periods in a row, no lunch no toilet break.i felt like a crazy woman rushing from class to class. hahaha.

orientation's over!
the week passed really quickly. the first few days were pretty boring, but the last two nights were fun!
day 1: mostly talks and administrative stuff.
day 2: amazing race
day 3: mass games in school
day 4: mass dance at suntec + shopping (:
day 5: O night!

briefly. that was orientation. i can't really rmb what exactly happened through out the week. tho O night wasn't new anymore, it was still pretty cool! haha.
the performance went okay. i was freaking out before i started dancing, since i thought i would screw up the first 8. but it turned out fine (: thank God.
sadly, they didnt have a dance floor last night!
went for supper with yijun after that. and justina joined us later on.
orientation was tiring, but it was great meeting new people! OG 2!
i think i dont know many of my OG members, mostly spoke to Iynyi, wx, taufiq, sabrina, shernice, anooja, andre, ahmad, adnaan. didnt really get a chance to mix with the rest.
and thank you OGLs for making orientation pretty awesome.

this week passed so quickly.

wednesday: our supposed steamboat & reunion dinner. rushed down to chinatown after attachment. met ziying nicole sherlyn and huiyi. i thought i was late but rachel and sophie were later! haha.
we walked around the road side stalls and boughts lots of food:D & there were really good mushrooms! (free food samples)
we did NOT see any steamboat restaurants at all. so much for having a steamboat. hahaha
i bought my qipao! prettyyy!but i thought it was kinda expensive tho

and friday we had cell at SMU as usual.
darren shared about forgiveness.
forgiveness does not justify someone's actions, but it frees you.
this line struck me too.

forgiveness is simply saying to the person or persons, whomever they may be "I lay aside forever, the hurt and anger that you have caused me, and I forgive you unconditionally, and no longer hold it against you."

One other very important thing is that you are not responsible for what the other person's response will be to your forgiveness. For God may heal and forgive you, but the other person who hurt you may never forgive you and be healed.You are not responsible for someone else's forgiveness. They are.

The best reason i can give myself to forgive is because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has forgiven me so many times in the sacrament of confession over the years, and because he died on the cross for me and for my salvation.
When you cannot forgive someone, you cannot, no matter what you say, have the capacity to truly love yourself or anyone else.

Forgiving is like releasing that anchor that has been holding you down for so long. letting go of that bitterness inside is a whole new way of trusting God.
I believe nothing is more wonderful than forgiveness freely given and freely received.
When those valves are opened freely and those veins cleared, you will receive and experience the love, peace, happiness and joy of God which will remain manifest in you throughout. The genuine happiness is just amazing.
it's never easy, but it's possible.

we had a long discussion after the sharing. and all the questions raised really set us thinking and we start to realise how we arent able to answer so many of them. i guess we really need help to get the answers.

today was real boring. tuition and dinner. i didnt even get to swim ):

A busy weekend it has been!

friday rushed to town after attachment. wanted to watch Rachel getting married initially, but we realised it was M18 so, caught IP man in the end.
it turned out good! haha, the fighting and kungfu was pretty cool.

sat was GGD. ended pretty early then justina came over. we managed to do a lil math before we got distracted. (at least we got started on math! )
she became my fashion consultant helping me pick out what to wear for dinner. haha.
rushed to SMU for prayer meeting/ cell?
Justin shared on forgiveness, letting go of hatred.
rushed off for reunion dinner after that.
& tonight another reunion dinner!

just got home.
SP today! we fianlly got out of school . the open house wasnt as impressive as i expected it to be.we visited most of the exhibitions and were kind of walking around aimlessly?then met Erik for lunch.
lesson was slack today, but i cant believe i lost my whole annimation file! i'm so annoyed ):
after attachment headed down to ps with rachel and justin and had pastamania for dinner. then justina and dawn came along and we went to have shaved ice dessert! it was good :D
we walked to SMU to wait for the other guys + ashley to come for cell.

countdown 2009! (dempsey)

shall blog about countdown!
my last few hours of 2008 and first few hours of 2009 were spent with ziying sherlyn nicole rachel and huiyi! it was a lot of fun(:
met at dempsey for dinner.
we walked around looking for a suitable restaurant. then at House this girl came up to us and she was like "are you guys here for the New Years Eve party?"
we: "no..."
then we saw the banner for the party and it was called FASHION DISASTER!
what an insult! hahaha

we ended up dinning at the italian retaurant(i forgot the name)
i shared a tiramisu with rachel since we both ate before coming and it was real good, and the portion was quite big actually.
we had wine. but we were such noobs that we couldn't tell the difference between the two different red wines. haha.
crashed the party after dinner! but it wasn't that much of a fashion disaster as there were more normal looking people than people actually dressed up for it.
counted down at House of Barracks, but the party wasn't as high as i expected and the dance floor was kinda sad.

slept over at nicole's. played guitar hero and wii(: it was kinda fun but i really suck, no kidding. my coordination really cmi! haha.
thank goodness there were no guys.
managed to catch abt1+ hour of sleep while the rest were up the entire night! haha.
and we called for macs delivery at 4am, that was my breakfast.
it was an awesome countdown! love you babes! <3

it was great joining TJC swimming, sth I'll never regret. the time spent together and friend made were greattt(:
well, TA life was good too, despite things being kinda screwed up initially. but with my dearest girls, the year was amazing(:
our level cell has been doing pretty well, we managed to sustain it through this year! at least it didn't die halfway through. all the sharing sessions helped us grow spiritually too, and it kept me on the right track in my walk with God.
and 2008 was when i finally met up with the crescent people after 1 1/2 years! i almost thought we'd never meet again, but we did! and I've missed you guys!
had a good time catching up with primary school mates! the sleepover and all (: (but we didnt stick to our 3 months deal. haha)

I can't believe it's a new year! and i'm kinda intimidated by 2009, i'm going to J1! i'm looking forward to orientation, making new friends, BUT, i'm so scared i won't be coping! /:

christmas was greattt:D
the day was kinda boring, had lunch at home. then walked around the estate with yinwen to post her card. hahah
In the evening we had the annual family party! it was great meeting and catching up with cousins:) and Sam came back from the UK! she looks really different.
took a walk with caleb while the younger kids played the games. it's so nice to walk at night.
and i love the family 'orchestra' and the lovely live music and christmas carols! <3
didnt get to catch the late night movie in the end. instead we hung at ernest's place. played bridge till 1am, then i had to go.

woke up at 8 this morning to go swim. met jayne at jcc and passed her her card! it was nice talking while kicking. we've gotta hang out soon girl! (sorry i couldnt make it for the BBQ on monday)
